Who We Are

Establishing A Love Of Learning

TCHS Montessori-inspired program approaches education from the learner’s point of view. The student’s natural curiosity and interest direct the curriculum.

While a personalized learning experience is integral to our Montessori-inspired approach, we also emphasize community and collaboration. We recognize that for high school students to profoundly contribute to our diverse world, they must feel rooted in a supportive community. At Cottonwood, we are reimagining community.

Our student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1 allows for more opportunities for interactions between staff and students than in a traditional school. Each student is assigned a teacher, or learning coach, who stays with them for the entire four years of high school. With their learning coach, students establish a rigorous curriculum and work on their goals, projects, and assignments.

At TCHS, we are reshaping education. We’re making it personal, keeping it engaging, and nurturing the students’ holistic development — where they can grow socially and emotionally while also gaining the academic excellence they need to successfully transition into college or a career they are passionate about.

The Cottonwood School is WASC accredited and follows California State Content Standards  while meeting college entrance requirements. We enhance your student’s outstanding academic education with a balanced, holistic approach.
