Our 11th and 12th graders recently took a fun-filled field trip to the California State Capitol, where they had a great tour! Not only did they uncover secret etchings left behind by the artists during the building’s construction, but they also got a fascinating peek into the history behind the governor’s paintings. And, to our excitement, we discovered that our school mascot — the owl — plays a major role in the Capitol’s symbolism! As if that weren’t cool enough, they even sat in on a live Senate session. It was a fun, informative day that left everyone buzzing with new knowledge and California pride!
