CCPA 11th and 12th-grade students kick off their final project of the year.

Challenge: Create a poetry portfolio exploring the use of poetry that resonates with diverse audiences. Students will do this by answering the following Essential Question: How can the power of spoken word in poetry transform personal experiences into universal messages that resonate with diverse audiences?

Students will explore this question by creating a book of original poems that will be performed in a “poetry slam” for their peers, families, and members of the general public.
